Our Priorities

General Practice Tasmania’s priorities over the next three years are to:
  1. Cement the place of the network in the delivery of primary care services in the State.
  2. Implement robust systems for clinical communications, data collection and information management.
  3. Maintain strong communications and advocacy to ensure a unified voice for general practice in Tasmania.
  4. Support improvements in practice quality and capacity particularly in the area of chronic disease prevention.
  5. Develop and promote team based models of care in a manner that recognises and responds to the needs of general practice.
  6. Work with government and non-government organisations in preventing and managing chronic disease into the future.
  7. Develop strategies to address general practice workforce shortages and ensure a sustainable primary care workforce for the future.
