Tasmanian GP Census 2009
The General Practice Tasmania Network has developed an annual GP Census to accurately determine the current status of Tasmania’s GP workforce. Used successfully in Tasmania since 2005 and now adapted for use across Australia by the Australian General Practice Network, data from the Census is held in a secure environment and used for the following purposes:
-
To identify Districts of Workforce Shortage
-
To review Divisional GP and practice contact details
-
To help reconcile discrepancies with national datasets
-
Provide a de-identified dataset for research activities
As part of the GP Census participants are also invited to complete a brief Divisional survey. This part of the Census is used to provide important information to assist the Division in meeting your needs. In Tasmania the annual GP Census is administered by each Division of General Practice.
Census week for 2009 is from Monday, 4 May to Sunday, 10 May inclusive.
