A key component of the Australian Government’s National Health Reforms is the establishment of a new nation-wide network of Medicare Locals.

Medicare Locals have been established to better coordinate primary health care services for local communities by identifying local health care needs, working to address any service gaps and making it easier for patients to access the services they need.

Tasmania Medicare Local (TML) Limited is among the first Medicare Locals to be established in Australia.

The Board of TML Ltd is seeking a capable and enthusiastic Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organisation and assist in shaping the future of primary health care in Tasmania. The CEO will be expected to be a strategic thinker, motivated to work in a dynamic health care environment with relevant tertiary qualifications, and excellent skills and experience in developing partnerships and strategic alliances.

The position is offered on a 3 year contract basis and is attractively remunerated with access to generous salary packaging arrangements and a motor vehicle. The Tasmania Medicare Local Central Office is based in Hobart and significant intrastate and interstate travel will be required.
