General Practice Workforce

General Practice Workforce (GPWT) facilitates the recruitment and retention of GPs in rural and remote areas of the State.

GPWT  is funded by  the Australian Government  to improve access to general practitioner services, to encourage better links between general practice and the rest of the health system and to enhance the quality of general practice.

Funding is provided specifically through the Rural and Remote General Practice Program (RRGPP) to Rural Workforce Agencies in each State and Territory to provide support and assistance in the recruitment and retention of  GPs in rural and remote areas.
