Department of Health and Human Services
Our working relationship with the State Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is underpinned by a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The MoU has the following aims:
- To work collaboratively to improve individual patient care and community health outcomes
- To involve general practitioners in the planning and development of Tasmanian health services at a local level and in statewide planning
- To improve communication between Tasmanian public health services and general practitioners
- To recognise the role of GPs in improving health outcomes for all Tasmanians.
The MoU with DHHS is currently under review. A copy of the new MoU will be posted here once it is finalised.
Supporting this MoU are principles for engagement that provide information and protocols for seeking input or representation from members of the General Practice Tasmania Network. Click here to view these principles.
The collaborative relationship with the DHHS is further strengthened through the appointment of a State Liaison Officer position to work in supporting the Future Health reform agenda.
